I've always anchored a bit further north. One bank holiday, we were asked to move a bit further off because we were in the line for the Red Arrows display. We moved about 50m, which they were happy about, so probably had the best view of anyone for the display, including being the target for the sunburst.

I don't know if they've changed, but out memories of Weymouth have always been good, including being allowed on the mobo pontoon in a Snapdragon because Milady has limited mobility

So does anyone know the name of the Harbourmaster and whether they are likely to retire soon?

He has. The new HM, Jamie Joyce, started at the beginning of last month.

I have to say that, notwithstanding the comments made, I've always found the moorings team to be very friendly and helpful (and that's not just because I'm a berth holder!)

Wonder why they bother with the mast, in a beam reach it probably does a fair lick under bare poles ;)
