I’m considering anchoring in Fontenelle or Lancresse bays following passage from braye whilst awaiting for Beaucetter marina fill to cover to adequate depth as they have removed the waiting buoys that used to sit outside the marina.

can anyone give any advice as to the suitability and holding of either of these two bays. We will stay abo probably rather than leave the boat

thanks

L’ Ancresse would be by far the better of the two and has good clean sand for anchoring. The shore is low- lying and won’t offer much shelter, so pick your weather. Entry to L’Ancresse in daylight is simple enough and it’s probably a good choice for a few hours holding whilst waiting for the tide.
