At risk of telling granny etc. it's for auto-switching between port & stbd. depth transducers on a deep hulled sailing boat when tackiing.
Not so useful for many modern hull shapes.
An anti gravity device would be very handy when doing house alterations. Clients often ask for wall to be removed and glass doors installed on 2 or 3 sides of a room.
Pillars or columns? No, don't want to see any those.
I had twin transducers & the switching device was basically an eg timer balanced horizontally. It had mercury that partially filled 1 bulb. When the boat tacked the mercury ran to the opposite bulb & the unit tipped & flipped the switch to the transducer on the correct side.
