We are hopping to purchase out first boat in the coming year and moor it here it Cardiff. We are a young family of 5 and spend our holidays abroad (v.s. on a boat in the UK) - As such, we are looking for an all-weather safe dayboat/weekender for exclusive use on the channel.
I have noticed that there is a serious price jump between dayboats (say an Antares 7 or 8) and weekenders for 5 (Antares 9 at the very least). I am wondering how most of you use your boats on the channel to learn from your experiences as to whether we should aim for a smaller boat (and using airbnb or hotels at Watchet, Swansea, etc...) or a larger boat.
And how important is it to have 2 outboards v.s. a single on the Bristol channel? (that second question may answer the first one )
Thank you.
