There is still no word about when it will be legal to leave the U.K.

Personally I do not think it is a matter for out government when people want to leave the U.K. The government really should only control entry not exit.

This time for a change, I agree with movement restrictions. It is quite legal to leave the UK for work or returning to country of residence but they don't want tourist trips when return could bring something unwanted with them.

If that is the case, they could put a minimum time limit between leaving and returning.

Let them leave but not return until the pandemic is properly under control worldwide.

Actually, guys , this is serious & it's odd the depth of discussion on the 17 May overseas travel day, which has been discussed up to now, has now become, this week, a possibly latter in June travel day, which is unworkable for most of us. If we are down to a squabble with whoever is going to police this, that our boats overseas, will sink if not maintained, or our boats overseas have finished winter layup arrangements & the space is already let for summer use, then the boat must be attended. Does this have to be argued out, or is it taken as read that needs must & we must go to attend our boats to fix things. Or are we in the stupid situation that we can hire a delivery crew to go out to do what we would do ourselves, which is legal, but if we go out to move our boats ourselves, this may not be. So- back to the first post- We can go back to Portugal 17 May to fix our boats? Or is that from the point of view of a resident?

None of us knows what the future holds, it's likely there will be changes as and when new lockdowns are needed. At the moment, there are no direct UK to Portugal flights and even when flying via another country, boarding isn't allowed without producing residence documents. Portugal want to open up to tourism but, AFAIK, no definite dates yet to/from UK.

This if facts i personally know two boats that have left Portugal and are now in Spain,
We have one couple who jetted out of the UK and now is in another marina near by in Sicily , two guys have arrived in our marina from Brazil and as I write one couple driving back to the UK from our marina , so there iis movment its just a matter of finding how.
On a personally level we just completed a 9 days cruise from one EU country to another and back without any problems what so ever , we had to fill heath forms both ways but wasn't asked for any tests .
If you really want to get back to your boat m then stop reading stuff and get of your back sides and make enquiries.

Statement from SEF (Boarder Control), provided you can get to your boat and then apply to depart, you will be permitted to leave Portuguese Waters, on the clear understanding you won't be able to return.

In reality, who knows?
