Yes, as far as buerocratic matters it's a country that like to say No
We sailed from Croatia to Greece last week. And I can say everything is relaxed here (Corfu, Paxoi…). No fuss about the masks… Just a lovely greek summer. If I would have the strenght to turn down internet, I wouldn’t know there is a “pandemic”. Have a beer, grilled octopuss and enjoy summer. We’ll be sailing here till end of August. Avoid me, I am not vaccinated
well, no flag. Will you be flying the fever flag?
Four of us have a charter booked from Kiriacoulis in Lefkas on 19 Sep. Pushed it back from our 2020 booking. We are all double vaccinated. Was planning on a spin around the Ionian for a week. Does anyone who is over there see any impediment to that happening, presuming the flights don't get cancelled?
Cheers, Gixer, I appreciate that.I'm off on a flotilla to Paxos on the 22nd August. The wife and I are double vaccinated (certificate on its way) and my 13 year old will do the tests before leaving. I think thats it. As far as I know all the ports around that way are open and waiting for tourist €€€.
I'll let you know if I run into difficulties
everything is fine for holiday in greece except for the forest fires
Tell me about it. I'm hoping to go to Greece in a few weeks and thought I might have time to sort out residence. I have an Irish passport and a friend with a UK passport told me that it was very quick when he did it in Preveza not so long ago. I had made notes last year, prepared the form and sorted out all the stuff I'd need. Then I did some digging to double check the latest situation.Yes, as far as buerocratic matters it's a country that like to say No
Tell me about it. I was asked for my mother's name when I first opened a bank account in Turkey and I gave her first name as I was told that's what they required. Later when I applied for residency I was asked for my mother's maiden name which I duly provided. I also provided my bank details. My residency application was refused because of the discrepancy between the application details and the bank details. The bank couldn't just change the details on their system and after lots of tooing and frooing the only solution was to close my bank account and open a new one. My parents are dead 40 years and I'm still being asked for their names when I try to do anything official here.I am going through similar at the moment. I applied for a temp AMKA in February. for vaccination purposes, Was told end of May to apply again no reason given, waiting still but frustrated asked why, they said go and talk to an accountant.
Yesterday went to the Kep (a help desk in most large Greek towns) for help to be told the problem was someone at the tax office had spelled my father first name wrong by adding a extra letter. He's been dead for45 years.
Now told I need a lawyer to change the name to its correct spelling before being granted a vaccine....
