Hi I am looking for somewhere I can moor & walk to a pub (we will get a takeaway) I would be so grateful if you can recommend somewhere 2-4 hrs from Windsor. We have been out from our berth a few times but have always come home as we can’t find anywhere to go!! Thank you very much

Just seen this, if you go downstream from Windsor, go through Romney and old Windsor lock. After the lock about 20 minutes travel there is a mooring on the right by a harvester pub, the bells of ouzely. If you carry on downstream another 15 minutes you pass a statue of the queen on your right, pass the park around a sweeping bend and there is a mooring on the right behind a bland looking warehouse. A small footpath takes you to a great Italian restaurant, the Italian concept. You can walk downstream from there to bell weir lock, the Runnymead hotel is really nice. If you take your boat through bell weir lock you get to Staines. Go under the bridge and you can moor at the Swan pub, really good food. You can also moor on the opposite side and there are several pubs in short distance.
may be worth asking this on the Thames forum as you will get more local knowledge.
