It was. Moving it outside was so much better than having to leave the tiller and go head down in the companionway with 250,000 tons bearing down on you!
Just use waterproof switches and protect the back of everything. You can use LED warning lights for oil and temp, but the charge warning light powers the alternator field coils, and they want the tiny current flow through a filament bulb to kickstart them
