Good idea. You can "smart network" Victron Smart Solar controllers with the Smart Shunt - supposedly this makes solar charging more efficient, allowing the controller to account for any voltage loss between it and the batteries.

I believe you need to obtain the SD card's CID number (e.g. using Linux) then find a supplier on AliExpress (or maybe you need to use AliBaba?) that can set the CID of the SD card before they send you.

This is a benefit of raster charts - it is a feature and not a bug. When you can see the pixels you know that you're viewing the wrong scale of chart, and you should switch to a larger scale chart. OpenCPN can automatically change to a more suitable sale of raster chart for you, it works...

You're not into chartplotters then I would just ignore this one for the purposes of your inspection. Compared to the money you'll be spending to buy the boat, and the costs of fixing any other potential problems, the value of this chartplotter is negligible. So concentrate on finding any other...

Not long after - the same year or the following one - Iris was listed for sale with a UK broker. I think the broker listed her as being in Bristol - the video is labelled Watchet Harbour, which is in the Bristol Channel a bit west of the city.

This reminds me of a problem I had which turned out to be knackered 12v isolator switch - it seems like the connection was made but there was a bit of resistance, so the voltage dropped too low when the mains went off. Switching it off and on worked for a while and then it failed completely...

I removed mine and hotwired them one by one - each turned cherry red within a few seconds. But, from cold, my engine still takes ages to catch. Someone gave me this link, which I bookmarked, for testing them with a multimeter: How to Test Glow Plugs I haven't yet gotten around to trying it.

Ideal outboard for a boat of this size is the two-stroke Tohatsu 9.8. Not cheap or easy to get ahold of, but you won't be disappointed.
