Had to remove my Beta 20 engine the other day for access and when I put it back in I could not help but notice the engine moved back and forwards more than I’d realised. Id not had any vibration problems prior to this but the engine sits with all the mounts leaning backwards. If I push the prop...
I’ve got this teak grating that is in reasonable condition and grab rails too. They look like they need some love but I don’t want to ruin them. Quite like some colour from them. What do the experts think ?
Thanks

A couple of months ago I asked if I could use a socket and was told to use the one that was mine. Apparantly when my boat was repaired the contractor...
Ok I’ve removed the original Formica chart table and made a new one with veneer epoxied to plywood.
Now I’m not sure how to finish it. Ideally needs to be waterproof. I was keen to have a Matt finish. So should I give it a coat or two of epoxy then sand. And if so will using int gold spar...
Just been offered a piled mooring on the Hamble river. Been waiting for several years so keen not to turn it away. Only concern is they say they put two boats on them. So no pontoon between the piles just two boats in essence raft up to each other. Both have bow a stearn lines to the piles...
Hi,
My chart table in the CO32 was dreadful. Horrible wood effect Formica on top of nice plywood. Unfortunately they made it so you could not open the lid more than a few inches so I cant reuse the wood. Ive removed it and want to replace it with something thats got a nice warm colour to it...
Ive removed the old switch panels from my boat as there was no logic to how it worked and most of the time it didn’t.
Now I’ve stripped all the bits and bobs that’s been added over the 50 odd years I’ve put a new panel in. New buzz bar and it will be simple to finish it up nice and tidy and...
Hi,
I am going to install a new chartplotter and despite my reservations I was thinking Of buying the Vulcan 7R. Although ive had problems in the past with the same model I liked some of the features for instance the Tide info and display was really useful.
However I keep considering the...
Hi,
Thought this was worth a mention. Ive recently made a claim with GJW Direct. I submitted my claim with a report and images and quotations. Approved in a few days. I then provided the completed works invoice and was paid within 2 days. Now to me that is extremely good service and...
Just fitting a new control panal, well starting and got confussed trying to work out why I’ve got supply from both 1 and 2 for the existing switch Panels.
I was sure I should only have a supply from one of those the other being purely for the battery.
It seams not to be the case. On 1 I...
