Is it just me or has the Windy phone app gone from wind speed in kts to Beaufort scale?
The compare function for the different forecast sources is really good too.
When all the lines are similar.....the forecast is spot on![]()

Windy.com (free/red icon) does that too.
Normally I use Windfinder Pro + whatever the local weather app is in the country (MeteoConsult in France) but the Windy app is really cool. Love the graphics. Thanks for the heads upI know it is available in the iPhone - Look for this Logo

I use the pro version of this, think it was a one off £5 payment a couple of years ago. I find the GFS source best for my location so tend to stick to it although occasionally use the compare if something out of the ordinary is forecast.Ahh this has reminded me
Which Windy app/service are you all using.
Until my last cruise to Ibiza, I thought there was only one Windy App
The one that is essentially the same as this URL - www.windy.com
Or this app on Android
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.windyty.android&hl=en
Or this app on iPhone
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/windy-com/id1161387262
But .........................
There is a MUCH better one out there - here is a link to it on Android devices:-

The app takes a lot of "getting used to" but it is great for working out the forecast for an anchorage.
You search/select your location and store it in your favourites.
Then your location pops up - click on the time that you want to view and this is the kind of thing you will see:-

You then slide your finger along the time line (the vertical grey bar in the lower half of the above image) and the arrows on the graphical top part of the display swing round providing the most important information - wind speed/direction and swell/waves direction and height.
It is a truly great addition to cruising and staying out at anchor.
And from our experience this year - extremely accurate.
Unfortunately, it is expensive - I paid £39 for it and I think that is probably a subscription.
But worth every penny.
I think it is available on a months free trial but I think you have to pay and get it refunded if you don't like it.
I was on anchor at the time when a yachtie friend showed it to me and I just wanted it to work.
I will definitely be using it a lot.
There is a mode which is similar to the free Windy but this app is way better than the free version.
Maybe I've got this all wrong and you are all on this alternative app anyway.
But it is confusing.
