Sorry but I think you're barking up the wrong tree here. Steel Developments did a great job of repairing my props and I've heard dozens of similar stories. I've never heard them criticised in the way you do.

By the way, it's generally its not considered good form to criticise a supplier on your first post.

I have used Steel Developments several times in the past, with no issues: they have rescued several of my props that had gone cauliflower shaped, and made them propeller shaped again with no vibrations.

So I have no idea what has gone wrong this time, but there are always two sides to every story.

steel developments generally have a pretty good reputation, somethings obviously gone wrong here, but they're generally well thought of

Same for me, great service over many years, now all businesses get it wrong but this does not sound like the steel developments that i have dealt with.

Not the best way to introduce yourself to the forum.

Suggest you should have headed your title ' Anyone here used Steel Developments" then you could have explained your frustrations.

I like the OP have not had a good experience with Steel Development.
I sent then 2 sets of duo Props. All I asked them to do was re-bush and tidy up the dings on the edges.
Before they were sent away boat pulled full revs and boat ran at 47 knots.
They came back repaired and rebushed as requested. I carefully ran then for 45 mins at Low refs. After that I did a further hours running before full revs. I now have a boat that only goes 43 knots and will not pull full revs.
My engineer and Martin Payne have both been out on boat to try and see what's wrong. They are both in agreement that the cupping has been messed up. No issues with engines. I have called Steel Developments and they blame the engines.
After speaking to previous owner and a few other people I have found that Steel Development are no duo prop specialists and no not like working on them. Would never use them again or recommend them

I have used Steel Dev several times to repair both aluminium and bronze props, and they have been first class every time. I have also bought a new prop from them. Excellent value.

I may be wrong but the way I read it the OP is praising Steel Developments not being detrimental?

The post has been edited.

I've used them in the past and been fairly happy with them.

Have used Steel Developments frequently in the past.Have never had any issues with them at all over 20 years.
They have always done a decent job, promptly and given excellent value for money.
Bearing in mind they are propellor repair company and have to work with what they are given and to try to bring it back to serviceable condition at a reasonable price.
There are so many variables which can affect top speed of a boat over time.
Suppose it depends wether you want spend a few hundred on a nearly good enough repair or thousands on new.
