Trying to source a 32 ft or thereabouts.all I can findi is 38and 40 ft boats
Does anyone have any recommendations.tried the larger outfits to no avail.wanted for weekend 30th march

I chartered Pompey Lass from Port Solent Yacht Charter, as mentioned above, when Lady JUK and I were boat less and fancied 10 days sailing as part of our honeymoon.

She's a privately owned boat and it shows. She was immaculately turned out, the owner is a thoruoughly nice chap and the rates were very reasonable. Couldn't have asked for more.

www.onestopsailing.com have access to nearly 5000 yachts worldwide, sure they can find a 30 footer in the solent!

Funny how times change - years ago - i'd have just rung them and asked - now - i had a quick look on their website - no uk boats listed although they mention uk and solent so i wouldn't bother as they would strike me as amateurish and not really in the UK market which may be doing them a great injustice

sorry for thread drift!

Hamble Point Yacht Charters have two 32' sailing boats.

I am surprised no one has mentioned them as anyone asking about charters in the Solent usually get a few replies with the consensus that Hamble Point yacht charters look after the boats better than most.

I declare an interest in that our Jeanneau 43 Deck Saloon is with HPYC. We put our last two boats with HPYC as they do look after them and after our bad experience with our first boat that we placed in charter with someone else that shall remain nameless!!

The link in post #6 points to HPYC but they seem to have gone for a more general domain name. I seem to remember chartering a Halberg Rassey 29 from them many years ago and I still seem to be on their mailing list.

I have a Bav 34 on charter from HPYC next weekend, have also chartered the Jen 42DS a few times as well. We have been chartering from HPYC for about 15 years and they have always delivered a very reliable service.

Well I will have a GibSea37 through HPYC for the last weekend of March and can post a feedback on their services. So far, so good, cannot complain.

For the Sigma33s (http://www.sigmayachtcharter.co.uk/ ), don't contact them through their website, as apparently this isn't working (well, didn't work for me anyway) and I had to copy/paste the email address directly under outlook. Boat is too small for the weekend with the lads end of March, but I will defintely be chartering with them at some point as the price is quite attractive.
